Francie fell in love with the breed over twenty years ago and introduced Mark to them in 1995, when they brought Dixie home as an early Christmas present to themselves. Mark now shares her obsession for these dogs. Dixie was followed by Annie in 1998 and Lucy in 2005. Dixie passed on to Hound-Dog Heaven in March 2008 and awaits the eventual arrival of her family and friends. In 2006, they acquired their fourth hound, Pancake, from Meredith Langston of Full Moon Kennel in Oregon. Pancake was awarded her AKC championship designation after only four shows and just after her first birthday. Francie and Mark had Pancake bred to Ch Windbourne Bentley in November 2008; and she delivered six beautiful puppies in January, 2009. Of course, one more hound makes her debut at HD Ranch in early May, as Blueberry accompanies the family from Arizona to Colorado.

and there are currently five Black & Tan Coonhounds on the property.
